A virtual fashion experience

One of the positive things to come out of this enforced worldwide lockdown has been the rise and rise of the virtual experience. Whether it’s Friday night Zoom drinks with friends or watching the world’s best DJs play live from their front room, courtesy of ‘virtual festivals’ from the likes of Defected Records, it’s been brilliant to see how the world has adapted to change.

Fashion, too, has pivoted to our new way of living. The traditional retail experience might be on hold, but some brands have moved quickly to ensure that their customers can still enjoy some of the best aspects of shopping.

Cabi is one fashion company that’s doing just that, and I had the pleasure of attending an online virtual fashion experience with one of Cabi’s stylists last week. It was a brilliant way to feel like you were actually at the shops with a personal stylist. It featured pre-recorded videos with models who showcased the new spring collection, showing you all the items styled together.

I was online with a few other ladies – the platform can host a group of people – so it was perfect for getting some friends to shop, chat and have fun. The added bonus, of course, is that you can do all this with a glass of bubbly in hand from the comfort of your sofa.

Our stylist had fantastic knowledge of the brand’s latest collection and could answer all the questions asked by the attendees, giving us information on fabric, fit, how to style the individual item, what body shape it suits and sizing.

This Derby dress is one of the items I chose on the evening and I can’t wait to show you other items I picked.

I came away from the Cabi fashion experience feeling uplifted. It’s the perfect pick-me-up home shopping experience to keep you going through lockdown. And it’s not just for these difficult times, either. Cabi have been using this way of showcasing their collection for a few months and will continue to do so, even when shops re-open. Which means it’s great for those who can’t make it to a Cabi stylist’s home, which is where they traditionally host these fabulous evenings.

At the end of the session you have the opportunity to purchase items from Cabi. They’re all sent from the US and mine arrived within two weeks.

Crucially, it was also brilliant fun and I can’t wait to do it again. Who knows, maybe I’ll see you on my next Cabi virtual fashion experience? I’ll be the one sipping prosecco on the sofa.

If you’d like to find out more about the Cabi virtual fashion experience you can search for a stylist in your local area here on their website.
